The United States flag and the Texas flag may be flown side by side, at equal heights, unlike all the other states in the Union, whose flags must be flown at a level lower than the U.S. flag.

This is due to Texas being the only state that was once a sovereign nation before it joined the U.S. No brag, just fact. There is much more to this history, which will be added later.

Long may they wave: the Stars and Stripes and the Lone Star Flag! We are proud to fly Both flags!

Texas's Lone Star Flag, just one of the Six National Flags that have flown over Texas. You'll find more, including the Great Seal of the State of Texas, which was originally designed for the Republic, then modified with statehood.
