Welcome to a page of MAGICK

Magick... a term loosely defining many arts and crafts, primarily that of the Wiccan traditions, but including many Pagan forms. This page offers comments as well as links to sites that are involved in just a few of these matters, and is not intended to be a comprehensive list or treatise on the subject.

If you would like to join in lively discussion of Wiccan and Pagan matters.....

Merry Meet!! For those who follow the Craft in the traditional forms, this site is the work of a Solitary eclectic practitioner who claims many years in this lifetime, most accurately described as following the Druid paths yet heavily influenced by the Wiccan craft; interested and practicing elements of Shamanism.

One writer offered the view: "The choice of following the path of spiritual enlightenment through Witchcraft is one that should be entirely your own. You, and no other person, are in control of your destiny."

Walk through the past at Salem

Are you a witch?   We know you're a witch.  Why won't you confess?  Lethal questions pummeled even the pillars of the Puritan establishment during the 1692 witch-hunt that convulsed Salem, Massachusetts.  Face the fury that claimed more than 20 lives ~ touch the tombstone.

Wiccans and witches are sometimes referred to as "The Lady's Hidden Children" This is due to concerns of all pagans who are living in a largely Christian-oriented society, whose members do not understand, and may even fear them. It is hoped that this site will be of use to practitioners, and especially helpful to those who wish to explore in private, deciding for themselves the merit of this ancient part of their world.

Possibly the most powerful statement attributed to anyone practicing the Wiccan craft in it's brightest form. This Rede is inviolable. It covers all daily experiences, private and public.

American Pagan leaders have put together a Web site with sample information, legal references, etc., that may be used by Pagans for a wide variety of legal and non Pagan communication letters and public education:

http://www.bloomington.in.us/~pen/boilerplate.html

Complete introduction page included. The entire pages should be read for accuracy and completeness. "These materials were developed by Elizabeth Barrette, Cairril Adaire, Cecylyna Dewr, Angie Buchanan, Phyllis Curott, Dana Eilers, Kirsten Rostedt, and Oberon Zell-Ravenheart for use by the Pagan community in public education and letter-writing efforts." "Please note: None of the information herein constitutes legal advice; should you be in need of legal assistance, please contact a [legal] professional."

NOTE: This is an ongoing project and the Boilerplate Committee welcomes questions, comments and suggested additions and changes, especially to make the Boilerplate Letters better, include more crafts, address wider situations, etc. While it is firstly aimed at Americans, elements may certainly be applicable to non Americans.

Witchy Cliches

witchcrossingmoon.gif (91843 bytes)Witches, by and large, do not get very good "press" as they are often thought of in the form just above, or even as the following cliches:

phases.gif (93875 bytes)

witchCauldronB&W.BMP (88506 bytes)

First of all there is what some would call the "Hallowe'en Witch" an old crone, stirring up mischief in a cauldron. This view is far too typical of what some believe.

catsbut1.gif (5953 bytes) Bast

Cats are often associated with witchcraft. Here is just one site that offers a view on one sacred Egyptian cat.

catsbut1.gif (5953 bytes) Misty's page

catsbut1.gif (5953 bytes) Domino's page

Then there was the Wizard's own cat, Mys Titian, whose page still exists, as does her spirit. She didn't always let on that she was a Mystical Cat, but she ran the Wizard's space as if she was.
Her companion "Domino" has assumed the responsibilities, after Misty went on to that great catnip patch in the Summerlands.
