Four 1/2 Stars! ...Popular author E.E. Grayson's identity as a woman is a well-kept secret. But when through her continuing character, Bannister, she starts endangering national security, the NSA sends Mac McAllister, a tired, jaded agent to learn how E.E. (Ellie) Grayson knows so much...This is a wonderfully adventurous romance with a hero and heroine who had me cheering for them from the first moment they met. They belonged together and only they seemed not to realize it...with many plot twists, much adventure, and some evocative writing, Gini Wilson has written a book that deserves to be read and reread.--Judy Gill, Scribes World

Illusions

Gini Wilson

There can be no illusions about the quality of this book. It is a remarkable read that proves the author to be enormously gifted.

Audra Franchi is a jeweler. Her talent for setting jewelry is surpassed only by a talent she doesn't desire; psychometry. Occasionally she will handle an object and receive mental images, shapes, names, various information that she is compelled to act upon. This time she has received a necklace of gemstones, one that she is to rework. This necklace gives her strong images; many of which involve a woman - Nina - that she only knows to be in danger and a man with whom her life - Audra's - will be entwined.

This man, Luke Donovan, is brought to her by a dear friend, a policeman named Bill Jacoby. Luke is an insurance investigator who believes the necklace, based on the information Audra gave Bill, is a part of stolen goods. The territory Audra eventually covers in her compulsion to help the unknown Nina, will lead her and Luke to ancient ruins and complicated mystery. Along the way, Audra and Luke will discover more of Audra's talent, her gift and each other than either one alone could ever have imagined.

Don't be fooled by illusions as you read this clever tale. From it's very first page, Illusions proves different and unclassifiable. Gini Wilson masterfully weaves exotic texture into what at first might seem average suspense. At first, I didn't quite know what to make of what I read. I couldn't see what I'd expected to find. That being for the best. The unique features of Illusions are what make it the strong read I found.

For example, look at psychometry. I was familiar with it before Illusions because of my prior interest in such things. But even if I hadn't a clue, Gini Wilson explains it so well it feels quite real. What also struck me as being wonderfully complex was the depth of the characterization. You are really given a handle on Audra and Luke. But not only that, the characters around them, the people with which Audra and Luke interact are complex enough on their own to hold even the shortest attention span. I truly enjoyed Illusions.

Gini Wilson's bio shows her to be a remarkable lady. Illusions proves it.
