closer to the computer age.

Graham Bell a patent for his new invention--the telephone in 1876 . |
| 1896 | This
was the year the Tabulating Machine Co., was started by the Herman Hollerith. It is considered essentially the
first computer company, the company would someday become International Business
Machines (IBM).
