amazing discoveries, theories, inventions, and ideas.
All these brought us
closer to the computer age.

course, that pretty much changed

is remembered by secretaries
everywhere as the year the typewriter was invented. I learned to type in 1968,
coincidence? |
| 1876 | The U.S. Patent Office gave
Alexander
Graham Bell a patent for his new invention--the telephone in 1876 . |
| 1896 | This
was the year the Tabulating Machine Co., was started by the Herman Hollerith. It is considered essentially the
first computer company, the company would someday become International Business
Machines (IBM).
