LITTLE COMPUTER GUY

Call waiting disconnecting you from the Internet? If you have 'call waiting' on the phone wire connecting  your computer to the Internet you will be disconnected whenever you get an incoming phone call. To stop this inconvenience insert #70, (with the comma) before your ISP's dial-in number in the Windows 95's Dial-up Networking, or wherever you enter your ISP's phone number.  this will turn off the call waiting feature while you're online.  Incoming callers will get a busy signal, and you won't get bumped off the Net.
Turn off that screeching noise your Modem makes! It's easy to turn off that horrible sound your modem makes when you are connecting to the Net.   In Window's 95 (Win95), open the Modems icon in Control Panel.  Highlight the modem you use by left-clicking it and then left-click the Properties button.  Choose the Connection tab at the top and left-click the Advanced button.  If there is a string of characters in the Extra Settings text field, add m0 (that's a zero, not an O) to the end of it.  If there is nothing in this field, insert atm0.
Nope, you don't have to  type http:// every time! Most Web addresses will begin with "http://" to tell your browser the page is to be sent in Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), a standard format for the Web.  If your browser is 3.0 or later, it assumes any address you're entering is using this protocol, so you can leave off the "http" the colon and the slashes.

Try typing in just a word or two into your web browser and hit Enter and Ctrl at the same time. Your web page just might come up! Or you might get a search engines with a list of WebPages that match what you are looking for.
