Additional Comments:
William T. Inman (b. 1836) was a confederate soldier in Company A of the 42nd Mississippi Regiment, Carroll Fencibles. He fought at Gettysburg and various battles in Virginia, including Petersburg. This information is from the "Military Annals of Carroll County" by W. F. Hamilton. His first wife (no children) was Elizabeth Carroll, daughter of Richmond Carroll (b. 1784 NC, d. 1868 Fairfield, TX). His second wife (Sallie Collins) our ancestor was the granddaughter of the same Richmond Carroll. Sallie's mother was Exer.
I am trying to track down the birthplace of William T. Inman (my great grandfather)
and his father. The oral history is that he, and his father and brothers, came from the
Carolinas, probably NC, to Miss.
Guy Wilson Inman and his brother Charles Inman served in the army during WWII. Guy in the
German theatre. Charles in the Italian theatre.

Additional Comments:
Most of my genealogy I got from my relatives and a cemetery in Morristown TN where 7
generations of our family are all buried. In TN, legend has it that the Inman's came from
England as colonists. There were three brothers named Shadrach, Meshac and Abednego.
Apparently Meshac was killed by an Indian upon arrival in the US. They say that Abednego's
family set roots in GA, and Shadarach's set roots in the Virginia Territory, now TN. I
cannot find evidence to substantiate the story, but it is documented that Shadrach Inman
was killed by an Indian's Tomahawk while on an expedition. He possibly explored with
Daniel Boone. A TN newspaper created for the bicentennial of TN said that the tomahawk is
still passed down in the Inman family. I have not seen it, however. Apart from the
legends, I am excited to find this site, and find accurate genealogical information.

Additional Comments:
I am attempting to assist my 14 year old son in locating his grandfather. From his
father's side, we know that Phillip D. Inman is his father. He went to England to school
when he was a small boy. We know that his mother died when he was young, name unknown.
Philip used to drive a black and silver Bronco, with CO plates, when working in UT. He
worked for a company called H & R Exploration, a seismograph company. He traveled with
a small camper trailer. He had lived in Bakersfield, CA for some time. His father, my
son's grandfather was to have lived in Denver, CO as of 1984. We had searched phone
directories and now we have access to the Internet and found this sight. We hope and pray
that some one can help us locate some relatives for my son. He is desperately
searching for his identity and roots. Thank you for your assistance.
