Criminal Investigation

The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) investigates all adult and juvenile crimes occurring in Morgan’s Point.

The Criminal Investigator is responsible for:

reviewing reports and filing cases

evidence and property control

crime scene investigation

quality control of criminal reports

Investigators review all reports filed and prepare them for further investigation if necessary or for forwarding to the appropriate prosecutor's office for disposition.

Investigators receive special training in many aspects of police work including:

Homicide Computer Crimes

Forgery and/or fraud Theft

Juvenile Law Procedure Assault/Sexual Assault

Code of Criminal Procedures Identity Theft

Burglary

Robbery

Assault

Sgt. Joe Medrano , a 10 year police veteran, is the Department Criminal Investigator. He has extensive back ground in interrogation and interview and has a high degree of working knowledge on human behavior. He can be contacted by calling the Morgan’s Point Police Department at 254 780-1334 from 8am until 5:00pm , Monday thru Friday.
