Heart of Texas Great Pyrenees Rescue (c)2002 |
Foster Home Application Unfortunately, everyone is not suited to the role of a foster parent. This in no way means that the person is not a good pet owner, but the criteria for being a Hot of Texas Foster Home are very strict. Keeping in mind that we have a deep commitment to this marvelous breed and will not just place a rescue with a home to have another so-called success story regarding a foster home and a needy pyr. Owner turn in, shelter rescue, stray, abused-confused-misused, injured and more, the foster home that is entrusted with these sweet loving dogs has to have the same deep commitment to caring for them as we do. And that care may be for a few days to months. Each case is different. The form you will be provided with, will in fact, probably be the most intensive form you will fill out regarding foster care. We have to know that the animal will be in safe, loving hands that will ABIDE by the foster home agreement (should you be one of the lucky few to be chosen!). If this sounds like it is difficult to get one of our rescues into your home, well simply put, it is. Some of them have been so traumatized that we need to be sure they will be given the care they need, while some are easy to care for. Please keep in mind that there is NO perfect T.V. rescue. Those sweet, TV type rescues that are just perfect - potty trained, no chewing, fits right into the family matrix - those are creations of the TV media and in no way reflects reality. If you are one of the few that is able to see the beauty hidden
behind scared eyes, flinching bodies when approached for a pet, if you are able to help
the lost and abused come home to loving arms and ready them for their Forever homes, then
