If you have the time to wait I would gather seed so as to be sure to have a plant when all is said and done, that beening said you can try to transplant the mother plant but they don't like to be dug as they have a pretty big root system. be sure to cut the plant back hard and try to get it back in the ground as soon as you can. good luck and let me know how it works out.
