Meeting each other for the first time. We both knew, from that moment on,
that we were meant to be together. This was one of the happiest and most
moving moments of my life. This was also a monumental moment for my
son. This was the most affection he had ever shown and it
was his first time meeting me. It was so remarkable that
the foster mother told us she thought he was sick or that something was wrong with him
since he wasn't himself. His nurse said he wasn't sick. I cared
and he knew it. For the first time in his life, there was hope.
Our hearts touched that day in a way that only God can
explain. I will cherish that moment forever. Look at this picture carefully
and ask yourself how many introductory visits have moments captured like
this. This was a once in a lifetime visit. This was a once in a
lifetime adoption. He was my son before we met. God just hadn't
introduced us yet. I love him very much and am very proud of him for how far he has
come considering all he has been through. He is a one in a million boy.

I thought the sun rose in your eyes..."

The boy who didn't smile.

"Romance Fails us and
so do friendships, but
the relationship of parent
and child, less noisy
than all others, remains
indelible and
indestructable, the
strongest relationship on
earth."
-Theodore Reik

"One hundred years from now it will not matter
what kind of house I lived in, How much money I had,
Nor what my clothes were like.
But, the world may be a little better
Because I was important in the life of a child."
-Unknown
